EAD 863 Training & Professional Development – John M. Dirkx
This class taught me about the importance of continual development in your professional career. Even after the completion of your education, I learned how important it is to keep moving forward in your own development. I also learned about the different types of professional development and why they are effective.
EAD 878 Education in the Digital Age – Steven Weiland
I learned about how modern technology has effected the learning process. As we move forward as a society, developing new technologies, we discussed how these new technologies have been integrated into our educational system. I was taught how these modern developments have impacted the ways that we are able to become better educators and learners. I wrote five papers in this class covering a variety of areas about how technology has affected our educational system.

EAD 801 Leadership & Organization Development – BetsAnn Smith
I learned about how to effectively be the leader of an organization. I was taught different leadership strategies and how to motivate your employees to perform at their best. Additionally, I learned about different professional development strategies to help improve performance of your organization. This class was very beneficial for me, and will help me as I look to continue to grow upon completion of my formal education.

EAD 876 Budget/Finance in Higher Education – Dongbin Kim
In this class, I learned about the ways that colleges and universities are funded. I learned about how the government helps to fund these schools, as well as grants and loans from the government to students. I also learned about where the money from the government, as well as our tuition, is being spent. Additionally, I was taught about the reasons for the rising costs of higher education, and what we should do to combat these rising costs.
KIN 856 Physical Bases of Coaching – Anthony Moreno
This class taught about the physiological and mechanical attributes of athletes. I learned about how to best exercise these attributes, forcing the body to respond to be better prepared to perform at a high level. I also learned about the physics involved in athletes performing sports. As a football coach, this class helped me to think deeper about the physical activities I am asking athletes to perform.

ED 800 Concepts of Educational Inquiry – Steven Weiland
This class taught about the foundations of education. I learned about the purposes of our educational system. I also learned about how the ways that we educate is attempting to be reformed, and the problems that go along with it.

EAD 860 Concept of Learning Society – Steven Weiland
In this class, I learned about the global configuration of learning opportunities and possibilities. I learned that educational activities of all kinds can be learned in every-day situations, limiting the needs for more formal educational settings.

KIN 857 Promoting Positive Youth Development in Sport - Jennifer Nalepa
I learned about how sports are able to make a positive impact in the lives of our youth. This class taught me about how to use sports to teach kids skills that they can use the rest of their lives. For our youth, sports should be used as a teaching mechanism, where winning is secondary to impacting the kids. I learned different coaching techniques to help me be able to make this positive impact.
ED 870 Capstone Seminar (Fall 2019) – Matthew Koehler
This class has helped me to put together everything I have learned over the course of my education. It has helped me to reflect on the classes I have taken and what I have learned. Additionally, it has helped me to aggregate all of my experiences into a website, marketing myself to future employers. It also gave me experience in website building, something that I have not had to do before.

KIN 854 Legal/Administrative Issues of Coaching (Spring 2020)
This class will instruct me on issues in athletics that occur off the playing field. I will learn about how rules and laws apply to collegiate sports. Additionally, I will learn about many different administration issues that may occur throughout my time as a collegiate coach.
